Driving end of auto 169

Work on the Driving Cab has included replacing rotted woodwork around the window frames. Much of the original wooden bodywork components that fit across the vehicle are in fairly reasonable condition and it is our intention to build these partitions along with the front and rear ends into the newly constructed side sections. One of the drivers compartment doors has been saved for further use however the other was too badly rotted to be saved and is being built from scratch. We have managed to obtain most of the driving controls including regulator and control rods, vacuum brake controller, hand brake which has now been refitted, together with the vacuum gauge. The external warning gong and operating mechanism is also in our possession and all of these components have been overhauled and are ready for fitting in due course.
